King Merritt dropped by our house yesterday to say he was running for constable #7 (as he calls it). He dropped off a resume and some information on the guy currently serving. Apparently Mr. Burkett does not practice what he preaches.
I really felt for the guy, I really really did. Maybe I'm having menopause or my wife has been spiking my Keystone Light with estrogen, but I almost cried for him. He was so awkward, but sincere. Something about him made me both sad and happy. There was something so pure aobut a guy who has no political acumen, just a will to serve.
I guess it's a nice to see someone out ther pounding the pavement even though you can tell he's so nervous he could run from every door.
Just to let you know - he had no clue who I was. Not that anyone does, but it was neat to see a candidate just talking to a voter.
