Somebody Has A Problem With the County - Shocker
Newspaper Tree posted an email exchange between my favorite El Paso political figure of all time, Jaime Perez and some dude with two last names and no first name. Check out the drama HERE.
You might remember Jaime Perez as the guy who looks amazingly like both the Iron Sheik (picture) and the guy from the Chef Boyardee commercials in the 80's. Perez is just like former City Representative Alex Lozano. Whenever they are talking something hilarious is bound to be said.
I didn't get all the way through the email exchange, but what I've read so far is great! Looks like Cobos' staff is ultra sensitive to any suggestion that somebody might be looking for a favor. I wonder why.
I'll have to sit down later and really iron out this hilarious exchange where one guy just isn't getting it and I'm not talking about the dude with two last names and no first name.
I don't feel sorry for the guy who wasn't picked for the PIO spot. After all, I could run circles around each of the candidates, but I could never in a million years get that job or any like it.
You see, my knee pads aren't stamped with donkeys. That's a major strike against anyone looking for that kind of job. All city, county and other local government positions are only filled by loyal democrats. If you aren't carrying water for the democrats then you might as well save that resume for a day when you get low on toilet paper because that's what they're going to use it for if you send it to them.
The other reason I can't get that job is the fact that I'm white. I'm really really white. Look up "white dude" in the dictionary and you'll find a picture of me. I had no control over this. It's not like somebody came to me in the fetal stage and said, "You ever thought about coming out brown? Your parents are from a brown part of the country and it may be a good thing for you to better fit in if they ever move back there." I hear it all the time from all corners of the universe we know as El Paso County. "We're looking for a Hispanic female... someone who better reflects the local population." Oh, I didn't know that the "local population" had a problem with my skin color. Even the local white elites are on the Hispanic female bandwagon. You only need to look closely at who's doing what.
I'm also confused by exactly what a county PIO would be doing. I thought the FBI was doing a wonderful job announcing the latest pleaders. Why the redundancy in services?
Kudos to Newspaper Tree for delivering the good stuff!
So the commissioners voted to hire someone whose qualifications are questionable ... it's not the first time. But Reyes Mata kept attacking Jaime Perez in his letters. He should be directing his comments to the commissioners instead.

Dave another reason you cannot get a job with the County:
1) you are not the child of a Judge;
2) you are not the wife of a Judge;
3) you are not dating or living with a Judge.
to add a few to your list. Reyes' complaint that the new spokeswoman has a language barrier? Whoopee do, have you ever tried ordering from a fast food restaurant lately, its a norm in our fair City?
