I listened to a lot of KHRO yesterday. I had to listen to Strelzin's show because the City Manager was on and I'm always interested in what she has to say. Sadly I had to listen to Strelzin interview himself for the majority of the broadcast.
When the interview of Strelzin by Strelzin was over and the city manager left, Norma Chavez sat down to use the free airtime given to her by KHRO so that she could campaign for herself. She started talking about her record and I thought for sure she was talking about how many fights she has won. Apparently she wasn't talking about that. She actually thinks she has accomplished something!
What a Liar.
No gambling yet.
No third building for Texas Tech Medical School.
MHMR is going under because she couldn't get them funding.
Her district still suffers from high unemployment.
I could go on forever. The only thing she did accomplish was getting her college degree using taxpayer money to do so and forcing lobbyist to throw her a huge party and refusing to report who bought her influence at what price.
She's a real success, alright.
She was also talking about drugs yesterday... This woman has no business lecturing people on drug use. I think many people know why. She pretends nobody remembers anything about her past.
What do you mean she hasn't done anything. She provided at least a half-day of work for the good ladies from Cafe Mayapan. Remember she hired them to wait on her guests at her 2nd Graduation Party - you remember the party where some 300 lb man stepped on Paul's injured foot (is that injury the military disability he wears like a badge of honor?), and that the worlds greatest political investigative blogger JA reported how thrilling it was to watch Norma serve cake and personally write the checks to pay her downtrodden wait staff.
Come on Dave lets give all the facts fair and balanced buddy fair and balanced

Strelzin is a complete idiot. The guy announces candidacy for EPISD school board and then uses the radio airwaves to get his stupid message across. We will remember this clown come election time and by the way he sucked as a principal and teacher. Just ask the people that had to work with this ego-maniac.

No gambling? Killed by conservatives.
Third Medical School building? David, as you know, because you are so smart, tuition revenue bonds are used to create new buildings, not general revenue. Texas has a budget shortfall, which we did not experience because of the stimulus. And stimulus funds could not be used for new buildings. The only school in the entire state that is issuing TRBs, is UTMB, but that is to fix the campus that was struck by....a hurricane.
MHMR? Maybe if the County did not have such a hard-on for passing a potentially constitutionally-flawed ethics commission, things could have turned out differently.
High unemployment? What's the number?
Norma's past? What about Norma's past? What do you know? Did she get a DWI? Oh no, that was you. Just because you got a DWI does not mean you should not "lecture" people about the dangers of drinking and driving. If anything you should, you should tell people how you fucked up, but how you recovered and how people can learn from you.

Uh oh. Somebody needs to be careful with pronouns and acronyms! They can make it very easy to identify you!
All Bullshit, though.
Gambling didn't pass because Norma made a deal for $1,000 in campaign donations from an Oklahoma tribe to kill the bill and was the first to proclaim it dead!
The other stuff is not due to budget shortfalls, plenty of money was spent at other universities including Tech's home campus and satelite campuses. The money for El Paso was held up because of Norma and Shapleigh and any legislator will tell you that.

David, your jelousy of Norma blurs your judgement.
Just this session:
*$30 million for developing worker\'s skills
*Passed HB 2169 which will bring more jobs to el paso
*Passed HB 2531 which stops the guv misusing funds that target job creation
*HB 1725 which givs more money to el paso schools affected by BRAC
PLUS: Moves toward a law school in El Paso, reform of Thomason hospital and the guts to say the ethics bill wont change anything and might make things worse.
What did you do this session? Oh that\'s right, you kept a journal and worked for daddy. Well done.
