Obama Lies Again...

The same guy who told you he wouldn't raise middle class taxes and abruptly bumped you to a new tax bracket and sacked some of your write-offs, is now going to punish middle class workers who have a cell phone given to them for work use.

Yep, the IRS (Obama's pet department) is trying to figure how to effectively tax employees who are required to have a work cell phone.  They are looking to make 25 percent of the total cost of the phone and it's usage as a "fringe benefit" and tax it. 

Let's be clear here.  The rich asshole, sorry excuse for a human being piece of shit republican employer (I'm being facetious here)  isn't paying this tax, the employee is. 

So the Obama administration is breaking it's promise to lower everybody's tax but the rich bastards.  This is going straight after you! You the middle class guy who Obama promised would get to castrate rich people and take their money!

Where's the faith in your mighty God Obama now?

An Answer to a Good Question

A reader of this blog commented on a previous post and asked a question that I thought needs answering.

Why has Barbara Perez latched onto Teresa Caballero? 

Let’s start where they became strange bedfellows.  When Greg Freyermuth came back to the air he became a voice of the Home Builder’s Association.  Actually he became a voice for the guy who hi-jacked the association and put his house boy in charge.  I’m talking about the Bowlings and their bitch Ray Adauto.

The Bowlings and Adauto are Luther Jones buddies.  Teresa Caballero is obviously in the Luther Jones crowd.  They now had a voice on the air through Freyermuth. Caballero would call in and it was fun times for all of them!  That’s how Caballero was first even introduced to the KHRO line up. 

So, how did Barbara Perez become best friends forever with Caballero?  Good question, I’m glad you asked.

Barbara Perez is a life long quitter who jumps from thing to thing as fast as she can.  She’s not a hard worker.  She likes to use people and positions as stepping stones.  Anyone who knows her personally knows this to be true.  I’ve heard it from them all.

Barbara got into politics and couldn’t wait to jump to the next office as fast as she could.  She ended up losing to Anthony Cobos in what is now the most embarrassing election loss in the history of El Paso politics.  It’s the equivalent of losing to a goat.

Barbara has been steaming ever since she lost and wants to be an elected official again.   Getting back on the air for free, or next to free, was her only choice in keeping her name out there.  The only problem – the more she talks the more people figure out that she’s very dumb.  She has a low IQ and is very emotional with a lack of understanding of the most basic tenets of our democracy.  She’s exposed herself and done herself harm.

She’s also realizing that El Paso’s culture does not like losers.  You lose once and you’re a loser for life.  Politics is a sport here, not an examination and acceptance of ideas (which is our major problem, by the way).  She knows she’s almost unelectable.

So what does a gal do?  Well, she had to find a political network to support her.  She needed to get accepted into a political faction that would raise money and support for her.  She had to look no further than the Luther Jones crowd who own the three hours of talk radio before her show. 

By letting Teresa Caballero on the air a few times a week she has proven herself a helper of the Luther Jones group and thus eligible for their support in her next run for office, which will probably be County Judge. 

She also aligned herself with Norma Chavez who has become a recent member of the Luther Jones club.  Chavez even pulled Paul Strelzin into the Jones group and he’s best buddies with Jaime O. Perez.  Don’t believe me?  Who called Jaime O. Perez just minutes after he was reinstated at Univision and told him to buy the air time El Paso Media Group would be vacating?  Only one person other than Lisa D knew what was happening and that was Paul Strelzin.   He didn’t really have a choice in the end, Norma has him buy his balls.

Barbara is now in the political group that runs KHRO.  I would venture that Hector is still somewhat his own man; but what does it matter?  His audience is afternoon drunks and halfway house residents.  The guy does 18 house of radio a week and still has zero ratings.  I guess he’s not useful to the Jones klan.

And to be honest – nobody in local talk radio has any ratings other than 600’s sports talk in the afternoon.  I highly doubt Steve Kaplowitz is a member of any local political faction. 

The bottom line is that Barbara wants to run again, but needed some support. She went to the only place she could get that support and will now lose her next election because of that.   Although I highly doubt she even makes it onto the ballot.  I think she’s getting the message that most of El Paso thinks she’s a joke. 

 

 

Desperado... The Final Cover

Up until yesterday Teresa Caballero still held my respect for being a very intelligent woman with an axe to grind.  Now she's just an asshole who is wasting tax payer dollars... Something her crew claims everybody else but them does.

Of course, I'm talking about the ethics complaint that Caballero filed against Commissioner Veronica Escobar yesterday. 

I'd link to it, but it's so convoluted, contrived and otherwise lost, that it would just ruin your day.

There is no basis for what she's claiming.  It's just a scare tactic.  Something to divert attention and complicate things.  It's something I used to do as a child in the principals office - point fingers at everyone else in the school so that maybe they'd go hunting after them and leave me alone.  It never worked that well.

Caballero's klan is dying.  They lost any chance of having influence of over City Council when Robinson won and a couple of their buddies were indicted shortly after that.  The little power the had is gone and this is the action of a desperate member of the gang surrounded by the good guys.  Although, she's not coming out with her hands high... she's coming out shooting.   To bad it's just blanks.

Maybe if we hold funeral services for the Luther Jones gang, the rest will get the picture and find something else to do.

Keep Your Eye on the Ball

I know that the ethic allegations against Cobos are super sexy and very hot right now.  The fact is, even if he is found "guilty" of an ethic violation, there's not much they can do under the current ordinance.  Don't go out and buy a new suit for a public hanging in front of the courthouse, it just isn't going to happen.

Mind you, the new ethics rules were approved in the last session of the Texas Legislature, but they won't be applied here.  Representative Norma Chavez never wanted them to be applied at all. She's buddies now with Cobos and company and sees the need to protect them from their own stupid selves.

Cobos is an asshole, we all know and love that.  There's nothing better than jumping on the town idiot when it's so easy to do so.  But.... We need to remember that Ms. Acosta probably didn't live in her district and has a very questionable past of her own.

In a contest to of who has the most associates in prison, Acosta wins by a long shot.  A lot of nasty stuff went down when Acosta was working FOR THE CITY.  Hector Villa can probably tell you that. 

She's also a highly paid retiree with a sealed record.  As of this month she can talk about what went down that led to her enormous retirement benefit/windfall.  What do you bet she doesn't say a word?

Often you will see radio show hosts and bloggers in this town take on strange bedfellows in situations like these.  Just look at Barbara Perez - she's angry that she's not a part of the progressive group in power right now, so she's shacked up with the creeps in the Luther Jones corner including Judge Cobos who beat her for that spot a few years back.  She's not the only person in town picking friends out of anger or spite.  You know as well as I do who they are. 

In this case I hope that many of you aren't loving Acosta because she's giving Cobos hell.  She hasn't earned any respect and deserves none.  There's no winner when two losers go to war.

Be careful who you get your info from knowing that people pick up political teams and change them so quickly these days.  Always know that I'm generally distrusted by all of them. That's a good thing.

I also heard that Sergio Lewis said he's going to run for county commissioner.  Scary.  That jerk hates the military so much he won't even let them wear their dress uniform to public events.  He's the kind of sick individual that walks among a city filled with soldiers and has no remorse. 

I will help raise money for anyone who will run against him.  I wil do everything in my power to make sure that a person who spits on our soldiers does not represent any part of this city. 

We owe it to every soldier we know to keep disgusting people like this from holding office.  That goes for the rest of the EPISD school board as well.

Somebody Had to Say It - But To Whom?

David Crowder rightfully took issue with a reader's response to the demise of Melina Castro that pointed the finger at the local media and a business group that is largely been absent in the past year. 

Once you get over that gigantic sentence, you can read the article HERE.

I agree with what Crowder wrote.  What I don't know is who he thinks he's talking to other than directly to the one identified commenter.  I think a case can be made given that there aren't many people in El Paso who share the commenter's sentiment.  Obviously there weren't enough to get any of the other slate of candidates associated with Castro's political club elected. 

So, Crowder is really just answering one of only a few people in an extreme minority.

Crowder did point out that Castro was always bad with the media.  That means that she never went to them to get her message or position out there.  We were left guessing the entire time.  We see this with Quintana and Holguin as well.  I will give Holguin the benefit of the doubt that until recently he had no problem defending himself publicly.  He's become wary of the media recently for reasons unknown to me.

The problem with any of those three every talking to the media is that their arguments very rarely held water. They have been under the control of some third party who tells them to vote against whatever the rest of council is voting for when it comes to certain issues like spending certificates of obligation and combining services with the County of El Paso.  They can't properly defend their positions because they understand why they are voting the way they are voting in the first place.

Voting "no" and saying that means you are looking out for the taxpayers is a game their political network has been trying to play for a while.  They want to build an image as budget hawks.  However, this doesn't work when they vote "no" to spend money that was borrowed years ago.  City Council can't give the money back once it's borrowed, so they opt to make improvements with it.  Holguin, Quintana and Castro never effectively object to the spending because they aren't able to. 

If you watch the meetings often enough you frequently hear some of the other representatives explain, for the record, why they are either voting "no" or not voting at all (abstain).  These "admissions" are usually pretty clear to the average person.  They make it easier to understand why they voted the way they did.

As for the Quintana, Castro and Holguin - either they give no explanation for their "no" votes, or when they do it makes no sense.  They've also been known to walk out of the room just as certain items are being introduced. That's a chickenshit thing to do and was a move used by former County Commissioners in the past.

I have personally witnessed Quintana and Holguin completely misunderstand an issue until it's so laughable that it's uncomfortable.  But it's not funny in reality.  They've been so brainwashed on certain issues by their backers that they are automatically off on the wrong foot from the start.

This idea that the media is after them is simply not true.  Rachel Quintana lashed out at me and the real media for reporting her misdeeds not realizing that we wouldn't have anything to say if she didn't do the things she's done.  Had she not be involved in this Southwest fiasco or said the things she's said, there would be no coverage.  Some people in the public eye do not realize that the press can't report what doesn't happen.

If the media is at fault for anything in El Paso politics, it's that they are easily intimidated into silence.  Representative Chavez and Senator Shapleigh are two local politicos who enjoy a free pass from the media out of pure fear. 

Maybe Castro should have given Chavez a call and received advice on how to get the media to shut up and leave her alone!

I'm back from the Texas Hill Country and it was hard to return!  But I'm back.  Let's see who shit the bed while I was away.

If my sources are correct, Judge Cobos is set to announce that he's suing the County of El Paso this morning.  This should be interesting.

Remember that the indictments on LJ and GS aren't done.  Notice the date of the alleged crimes and realize that seven years is the statute of limitations.  Something tells me that they had to rush these indictments in while they continue their investigation on other alleged crimes.

Melina Castro lost - Or Carl Robinson won... It all just depends on how much you liked, or disliked Castro. 

The people behind Castro also back Representatives Holguin and Quintana.  And you may remember that they backed the stormwater issue on the recent ballot.  Their pseudo-populist message has not worked.   Their political machine is dying. 

What will take its place?

Have you ever stopped and wondered why the closed auto dealers down when it was the auto manufacturers with the money problems?  It seems to me that the auto dealer that were still in business were making money. If they weren't, they'd be out of business. 

So, because the auto manufactures couldn't figure out how to make money, they close the only part of the chain of business that was making money.  Interesting and not the least intelligent.

There's something very fishy going on here and I'm no sure exactly what, yet. Read THIS.

Toll Roads are a funny subject.  Nobody is going pay money to drive on roads around here when there's a free alternative.  We do not have a traffic problem here that would constitute the need for tolled lanes so you can get somewhere faster.  The need simply doesn't exist.

Can you imagine driving in a toll lane on the border highway and noticing that the free lanes were completely empty every day?  Yeah, that's what it would be like. 

It will not generate one dime.   But go ahead if you want to.  Far be it for me to warn someone when they are about to cost us millions in road renovations so they can toll lanes nobody will use.
