Jaime Abeytia has taken up Holguin's cause on the staffing issue.
All I can simply say is that cutting each office's staff is a part of cutting their budget. You can't have two staff members when you only have the money to pay for one. Once again Holguin and friends are pulling a fast one. They'd like to change the subject when the arrow is pointing at them.
I never said anyone had more budget money than others. I simply said that Holguin had two full time staffers and has not offered to cut his budget to include only one. That's the truth.
As for Abeytia misunderstanding of the city managers office... well you can't help him when he has no idea how that works. Those deputy city managers are council's staff too. I've seen them get direct orders from Representatives to present them with information and to study certain issues.
As for Holguin's assertion that he "whooped" me in the city manager debate... he embarrassed himself greatly that day and I heard from many people on that issue. He had to admit that I was right about who controls the city manager. He also had to admit that he was simply eating sour grapes because he didn't get his way. Everybody who was listening felt sorry and ashamed for Holguin. After all, he's elected and has no idea how city government works. Looks like that's another thing he and Alex Lozano have in common.
