The latest alleged kiddie toucher in town was an EPISD employee up until the feds huffed and puffed and blew his kiddie porn stuffed house down (allegedly). That story backs up to the story of the late David Chavez who was accused of molesting a minor in his family during and after his tenure with EPISD. The way I see it, the only thing that could make all that worse would be to have some head honcho over there at EPISD get thrown out of his/her house and have a restraining order slapped on them. Oops...
You can bet parents are going to be calling for someone's head very soon. And I'm not talking about them being mad that we pay "dance teachers" with tax dollars. However, I'm confused as to why we have "dance teachers" when our schools are exceptionally... average or below average when it comes to academic achievement. I have not seen where we rank in the dance category. I can tell you that if the allegations against this dance teacher are true, he's among the top kiddie touchers in the state, if not the country.
I imagine EPISD does its best to check up on teaching applicants, and nobody can be held responsible for what their employees do after work... but come on - this guy touched a lot of kiddies and someone at sometime must have known something. What's worse is that we exposed our children to an alleged over-achieving kiddie toucher in the name of dance. It's not like he was shaping the minds of the next Einstein or Galileo while raping children (and filming it) (allegedly). He was in charge of giving us the next Kato Kaelin and Lindsay Lohan while raping children (and filming it) (allegedly).
I suspect the mass histeria to begin pretty soon. Once the first student's parents get a healthy settlement, others will come pouring in. Teachers will be victims of false accusations once students realize that a hyper-sensetive administration will bag teachers at even the slightest mention of inappropriate behavior whether it's true or not.
So that's pretty much how this is going to go. Good luck on that next bond election!
