A quick search of the El Paso County website yielded some more disturbing news about Lyda Ness tax problems. It's seems as recently as April 8th of this year she had her property liened again!
Check out the new document - Download Ness 2008 Tax
We know from my previous post (previous post HERE) that Ness failed to pay taxes in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007. Now you can add 2008 to that list and the hammer fell while Ness was telling everyone that her tax problems were of the past and had been resolved. Apparently the problems weren't in the past and they hadn't been resolved.
On 8/21/2006 she was notified of her tax problems - that was her first "Date of Assessment" filed by the IRS (document Download Tax3). If she fired her accountant, as she claims to have done, then the failure to file her taxes or file them incorrectly should have stopped then. However, this newest document proves she either didn't fire her accountant after she was notified of her tax problems, or that there was never any accountant to fire - it was her doing. Either way - she let her taxes continue to be filed incorrectly, or failed to pay them all together, as many as two years after she was first notified there was a problem.
If I was a reporter who asked Lyda Ness about her tax problems and she told me "I have worked them out," I would be pissed off. If you are that reporter - YOU WERE LIED TO. Ness knew beginning on 7/19/2010 she wasn't square in any way with the IRS. On 4/8/2011 her property was liened again - approximately a month before the election. Ness knows she was in trouble and any attempt to claim differently would have been a lie. The IRS does not place a lien on your residence in order to let you know that things are hunky dory and they're happy with the way you are carrying on about your paying of taxes.
Just so those of you in the media have this straight... If you asked Ness the question "how is your tax situation?" And she didn't answer it with, "my situation is bad, so bad in fact that the IRS just put another lien on my house April 8th of this year, and I owe more than $200,000 now," then she lied to your face. She made an ass out of you.
If you want to know why Lilly isn't giving you any quotes, it's probably because you've gone out of your way to smash Lilly in the head with frivolous ethics complaints based on emails sent from people not named Ann Lilly to people not named Ann Lilly. Hell, you splashed Lilly's name all over the headlines using allegations of wrongdoing that came from an anonymous source you were not given access to. But, when given proper documentation, the proverbial "smoking gun," the media let Ness off with a simple "it's my accountant's fault." What a bunch of crap. Again, no wonder Lilly won't speak - the media has not examined one allegation made against Ness even though there's a paper trail to prove it all.
And...
If Ness told youpersonally that her tax problems are old news - she lied and I hope this is your wake up call. She lied to your face and you expect her to carry your water on the issues when she's elected? If she will lie to you about something you can easily look up at the courthouse, what will she lie to you about that can't be readily proven in minutes? Would she lie about being in a developers pocket?
I got the mailer...It's trash just like lily! I didn't care before and I didn't vote but now i'm voting for Ms. Garcia. Her campaign is dirty and annoying with all those mailers. there is such a thing as over doing it. Morgan Ann Lilly has over done it and my neighbors feel the same way. she's done.

She doesn't have TIME to be an elected official!! She needs to do LEGAL work to pay off her debts.

"Would she lie about being in a developers pocket?"
WE DONT HAVE TO WONDER IF ANNE'S IN THE DEVELOPER'S POCKET. WE KNOW BY THE 20 K DONATION FROM THE PAC !

Texican: DavidK outed you last week under another post that you post under 4 different names - same person. So we already know you are a Lyda supporter. So don't waste any keystrokes posting under your other 3 names.

LNG is allegedly supported by Malooly, Dipp and Rubin (and yes, ALL developers too!). Guess who owns a lot of vacant, ugly dilapidated buildings in downtown - will she make them abide by the new Vacant Building ordinance? Allegedly she agreed to help dismantle city manager form of government and kill off smart code/growth.
But don't worry - she is fiscally conservative so conservative she now owes from tax years 2004-2008 a combined total of $206,223 in UNPAID federal income taxes.
As far as PAC support for Lilly and others - not a crime in the United States. There are millions of PACs in the U.S. and according to the Supreme Court they are legal. So quit crying about that. Realtors have a PAC, police and fire unions have a PAC, Builders Association has a PAC - any problem with their campaign contributions to certain candidates - like help them out with her "vote" when the union contracts come up - or builders issues? What about the WOPAC - the super liberal women only PAC in El Paso - they give out cash - did LNG get some? What vote did she exchange for that support? What vote did she exchange for Save the Valley for their campaign contributions?
To use "luther Hunt" thought process any campaign contribution of any kind in any amount is in exchange for a vote. So I guess everyone that has contributed to both campaigns are suspect - probably corrupt people. Somebody call the FBI.

The only question to be asking is: will Ness if elected trade her vote for help in paying off her IRS debt. Its a question that deserves an answer.

malooly, dipp, and rubin arent even in the same class as those developers or shoould i say developer in the "big money pac" and what they gave ness is a joke in comparison to hunt and friends(17-20k).
as far as ness ?
"The only question to be asking is: will Ness if elected trade her vote for help in paying off her IRS debt." well, we dont know. she might. the one thing we do know is anne already has and will again.

Well Early elections are running good at the Courthouse. Many of the employees that were voting are voting in the race. General consensus and talk among the voters is:
"Can you believe how much money Ness owes and doesn't pay?" "Have you heard she owes Credit Cards that she doesn't pay?" "Can you imagine the bills brought before the City and her participation in the budget process for the City?"
Basically, Ness' mismanagement of her own personal funds are the reason many people in line want to make sure that she has no part in their TAX paying dollars. Also, the fact that Abeytia also supports her seals the deal on a "vote" against her. On behalf of the Lilly voters, thanks for the information David K, and thanks to Mr. Abeytia for the Ness support.

It is a fact that she owes taxes. It is a RUMOR that she owes credit cards. Not fair. Sticking to the facts is quite enough for anyone to vote against her.

Accepting a donation of around 20 k from a PAC(the largest contribution given to any candidate running in this election by wide margins) for a vote change along with changing your position on DP to get someone else's votes are "facts". Not showing up for forums and debates are "facts". These are the "facts" and reasons why 62 percent of the people voted against Ann.

Diana: people are mistaking the credit cards for the Abstract of Judgments filed against her for $20,000+ in debt owed to AT&T Yellow Pages and $13,000+ owed to Rasberry & Associates - a court reporting business in El Paso. That's the unpaid debt to vendors. And she has done nothing to explain why she stiffed businesses - especially a local business. How can you be pro-business when you do not pay your bills to local business?
I have been to lots of forums in the last 10 years and the same 20-30 people go and they already know what they want to hear and who they want to hear it from. I think forums are a complete waste of time. Ann does have a record to run on - LNG only has a record of liens and judgments against her. So which candidate actually has a clue about elective office and its responsibilities?
Posted by: not a Nessy fan | June 02, 2011 at 10:31 AM
Just wondering if LNG is even attempting to pay off these debts? Anyone know?

She replies on her FB page
Posted by: Tim Collins | June 02, 2011 at 12:19 PM
On her FB page did she produce a copy of the installment agreements for tax years, 2004 through 2008? That is the only proof that will show she has and is making monthly installments. IRS won't file a lien on installment agreements if they are less than $25,000. So why did they file one on tax year 2008 which totals less than $25,000? No confidence in her ability to pay or promise to pay? Talk to your CPA - research federal tax liens on the Internet. Interesting info.

OOT62PERCENT, you are a moron if you vote for the nut known as Ness the Mess.
NaNessyFan, thanks for the info. You are right on target.
Tim, she replies on FB but is it the truth? She seems to have a hard time with the concept of truth.
