Mrs. Markel who lives on the westside voted early in this last election. She was born 1/1/1901.
You're too busy? It doesn't matter?
Well I'm sure Mrs. Markel doesn't do much these days, but she does vote.
This is probably the date they use for people they don't have a real birthday for, but you should still be inspired!
The THOUSANDS of people with that birthday are on the voting roles?

Voting for El Paso local officials is pointless.

Its ok to feel fed up with politics at times...to have a love hate relationship with it and exercise your right not to vote.

THOUSANDS of people in El Paso are registered to vote, and vote, with the 1/01/1901 birthday. Why David are these people on the roles and voting?

Some of these elections could be combined where there arn't so many elections.
The school board elections could be combined with other elections. But school districts like to say these are "non partisian' elections and need to be done separately. This type nonsense works to keep voter totals down. Basically, it gives school employees, plus their interest groups a better chance of getting their selected candidates elected.
Employee groups of teachers, administrators, and trustees have lobbing groups in Austin that push their specific interests.
Citizens and taxpayers really don't have lobbing groups which represent their interests. Basically, they trust and hope their elected representatives will represent their interests.

We need to learn to vote all at one time. That is one reason that people do not go out and vote. There are too too many election days of all kinds. We should have one voting day in November and get it over with. Also, it would save the tax payers lots of money.
