Lyda Ness has gone overboard and we don't know whether or not to throw her a life jacket or a straight jacket. There are several new developments and I'll take them in the order in which they came to me.
-----------------------
Lyda is being sued by the State of Texas in relation to a TEC judgement handed down after her race for a judicial seat back in 2008. In the latest chapter of that saga, Ness responds to the suit with the following document Download State vs lyda.
What you need to know here is that Lyda Ness told David Crowder HERE that she's not being sued by the state. She "challenged" the "assertion" of the TEC lawyer who said she was being sued. Judging by the document I have linked to above, Ness knew damn well she was being sued and misled Crowder on the subject. Again, she attempts to distort the truth when there exists paper work to dispute her distortions!
When a lawyer reads the document above they'll notice that Ness names herself as her own lawyer and then demands the state pay her attorneys fees. That would mean they would pay her to represent herself and any lawyer knows that that just doesn't fly. I don't know if she just doesn't know her trade very well, or if she's trying to pull a fast one.
----------------------
My buddy Jaime Abeytia posted the text from Ness' most recent email to supporters. You can read it HERE. I was forwarded the email early this morning and upon reading it, shot coffee out of my nose onto my keyboard.
(By the way - I'm linking to Jaime's site because he took the time to cut and paste the text into his blog, which is time consuming if you know how the CMS systems on these blogs work. Jaime posted a news worthy/blog worthy piece of campaign literature and made no judgements of the opinions expressed in that literature - this is not an attack on Jaime, but rather a "thank you" for doing the hard work.)
Yesterday I told you that nobody would believe that Ann Lilly beat up a man in his forties and that trying to sell that line of crap to the public wouldn't fly. Well... Lyda didn't take my advice. She now claims that Ann Lilly beat up THREE (3, thrice, tres, III) men in their forties at the same time! Ness brings a whole new meaning to the phrase "go big or go home." Ness super-sized her lie with the ridiculous assertion that a lady she claims sleeps through city council meetings and has dementia beat up three able body men roughly half her age.
WAIT!! IT GETS BETTER!!!!
Not being one to just lie a little, she goes above and beyond to build a conspiracy alleging that the city attorneys office and the district attorney are involved in fixing criminal cases for a chosen few. Then she finishes the pie of lies off with some powdered racial slurs and a sprig of angry former tenant who didn't get paid $117,000 as Ness claimed.
The three men claiming that city attorneys office is controlling the district attorneys office might want to watch out - they are accusing both parties of committing a crime. We all know that city attorneys office does not have authority to decide who gets prosecuted and who doesn't - that's not their job, nor would they interfere in such matters. The men who claim Ann beat them are "Don Martinez, David Laub, and Dwight Jefferson" - I hope they are okay with being sued because Lyda Ness needed them to point the finger at city attorneys office accusing them of public corruption. Will Ness represent them for free?
On that point - has Ness called the FBI to report the case tampering that she and her buddies allege that is going on between the city attorneys office and the DA? This is a serious charge and the FBI should be immediately dealt in on this public corruption allegation.
The alleged racists comments... really? Did we not all see that coming? When you have a weak story and there's nowhere else to go, you place the race card on the table and pray everybody doesn't see right through you. If Lilly's son had really said those things, that would have been the first story you heard two months ago. It's just another lie to sweeten the lies she's currently telling.
As for the guy who is crying because he wanted to buy the building, but Lilly had a better offer - who cares. The big thing here is that this guy shows the world that Ness was lying to everyone about Lilly paying him $117,000. The guy readily admits it was a defense cost settlement for $18,500. This little tidbit proves Ness was lying all along about the $117,000. Why would she prove herself a liar with her own production of campaign related material?
I can't believe how insane she has gone over the past week and this campaign email she sent out is extraordinarily bad for her. She looks terrible for sending it out.
Notice there wasn't one mention of the issues in that email? I get them forwarded to me all the time and they are never issue driven.
-----------------------
The El Paso Times had to kind of clean up their mess with the previous endorsement of Ness. They could never reverse their endorsement under any circumstance - that would be worse for them than simply endorsing the wrong person as they did the first time around. You can admit when you are wrong, which they did, but you can't reverse course and save your credibility. The non-endorsement comes way too late. This race was over on Tuesday.
I think it's funny that the final straw for them was a mailer from Ness filled with lies about Lilly's criminal history and not the lies Ness told them about her tax problems. Not paying your taxes is okay with the El Paso Times, but by God you better not lie on a campaign mailer!
For some reason I just cannot see Ms. Lilly jumping on someone to beat them up. Somehow that picture just doesn't materialize.

It's not like Ann and her husband are some kind of body building, super strong, tall people that can karate chop anyone that gets in their way. If I was the 3 guys LNG mentioned in her email piece I would be embarrassed as hell to state that a woman in her late 60s beat them up. Really?! Where is their ego? I want to almost feel sorry for the 3 guys because now they just look stupid. And LNG - there are no more words left to describe her campaign.

So why the perpetual use of Norma Chavez in your headlines? Does she draw that many readers? I thought she was left dead. Was there still a pulse?

inquiring mind,
Well, Norma was pertinent in this case... but she still draws a lot of clicks when she's in the title.
Ness and Norma will be very happy with my post on Monday of next week. And I think many others will be too. I should get some milleage out of them before I make their century.

Ness's accusations are sickening, to say the least.

Jaime is a hypocrite. I posted on his blog and he asks if I can back up ANYTHING I say. Funny thing is, he does not require Ness the Mess to do so and supports her 100%. He just lost all remaining respect.

Martinez made the accusations that it was summarily dismissed. Not ness or Jaime. At least give credit where its due.Notice how mark walker, the expensive attorney appearing nowhere on the treasurers report can't give a clear story. Lilly has a history of being a bully- suing people- I can totally see her hitting martinez over the head. She's nuts! She came to a neighborhood meeting in the valley two years ago and yelled at us!? She is vindictive cutting off anyone who crosses her. She ran our neighborhood association like a nazi regime gettibg her highnessed position yo do anything. Thats why i moved. As for Tres - calling them racist epithets., have you ever had the chance to see his criminal Past? Gosh half a dozen police reports from harassment to terroristic threats. He's a mentally unbalanced spoiled brat. I went to highschool with him and he was an angry creep.

Do you buy your own bull? Ness never said she had to pay 117000 - she said Lilly lost a summary judgment. Are you grammatically inept or deliberately so? I go to church with the Lamphears and just because they were bigger people and chose to settle AFTER they wOn isn't anything to make fun of.
Btw- mr martinez looks 70plus on the news not 40.
Your naive if you think special favors don't go on aaaalll the time in government under the titleprosecutorial discretion? The over prosecute Arditti and let so many others go.

Hey "Vicky" and "Lauren", aka Ness the Mess, campaign manager, campaign manager's wife, and crazy Mary Frances, YOU LOST! Get over it and get out of our great city. Do not need you loonies to bring us down. Go sell crazy someplace else and take Caballero with you.
