Saw the story this weekend about the increased turnout in early voting and that's always bad news for an incumbent. The Republican crossover voters spell the end of Reyes' multi-decade run.
Lot's of factors led to this race ending this way and I'll get into all of them late Tuesday night.
I will say that without Morris Pittle the congressman would have been beaten by at least 30 points. He reinvented the congressman in a way nobody could have. His efforts have garnered the attention of national king makers. Good for him.
LOL, an incumbent congressmen loses to a pro-marijuana-legalization challenger ... and the best you can do is say he would have lost by more without Pittle! LOL. Pittle has been a failure before. He's a failure again. Hopefully, this will be the last time anybody wastes money on that fool. Pittle just got his clock cleaned again.

Fred,
actually - Pittle has a great record and had the congressman not made some repeated fatal errors, he would have another win under his belt.
Pittle has delivered some of the best wins in the city. Those clients of his who have lost all have reasons why - most of the time it's not listening to Morris.

Media/Advertising consultants are like lawyers - you can't be choosy who your customer/client is. They all need to make a living, pay their staff and put food on the table. So just because Pittle is local is no reason to beat up on him if you are a Beto fan and know that Pittle and Beto are/were friends. It's just business. I am sure if Pittle was rich enough to be choosy about his clients he might have sat this one out. At least Reyes used a local business - did Beto?

Beto used himself, worked for himself and paid himself. Now he'll pay himself even more and his family-- or in laws-- tenfold.
