Mayor Cook isn't done embarrassing himself or burning what is left of his legacy. Are you surprised?
Tomorrow Mayor Cook wants former Council Member Gene Finke appointed to the Charter Review Committee. The Mayor plans on trying to get the committee to recommend term limits be lifted for city elected officials. He apparently thinks he could still win an election - a laughable premise no matter how you try to sell it.
Finke spent an evening last week at a special council meeting calling all of the residents of District 1 (a district he used to represent, by the way) "white supremacists." Check the video from the redistricting meeting and you'll see.
Those who have had the displeasure of being around the old coot says when he's not sleeping through meetings he's making very bizarre statements and blocking any progress a committee might make.
The Mayor is obviously trying to put a puppet on the committee so he can try and force his will on their findings. Too bad City Council sets the final changes with Charter Review.
WoW the Mayor a racist sympathizer and disrespected half the council in the process.
Oh and also, The National Organization for the Reformation of Norma Chavez (NORNC) would like to point out that it took over 3 weeks for Norma Chavez to update her blog. It was a great post though as it told me who not to cross over party lines and vote for. Voted opposite Norma today. You'd think as a "bloggie" writer she would have posted her piece on the first day of early voting rather than the last day. Kind of reminds me of her career... Day late dollar short. Worthless obstructionist time waster.

Thanks to those on council that voted to not allow Finke the appointment to Charter Review - but you gotta wonder what the other 4 were thinking? It's okay to stand up there and call an entire District (85,000+) white supremacists? Of course Elvia Hernandez and Paul Moreno were at that same meeting on the 23rd and said as much that El Paso was racist regardless of the Minority majority numbers. BTW all 8 council districts are Minority majority. So I don't get what the problem is - other than power and corruption. They wanted to create a "super minority district" - albeit to continue the corruption that has plagued El Paso for years and years.

Even after all this time living in a diverse city like Arlington, you still remain and angry white man with Mexican penile envy. Get over it David KKK. No one in El Paso remember you other than your mother and we morons who pop in because we find you as pithy and entertaining as you find Norma.

EPgal,
thanks for dropping by. Arlington is a county, not a city. I wouldn't want you to surround your odd penis fixation with incorrect information.
