The El Paso Times is on the story! Who else did you think would cover it? Exactly.
Hector H. Lopez - our favorite sweater vest wearing Chicano nerd - is going to run for mayor and lose to Steve Ortega possibly worsethan I lost to Haggerty - which is nearly impossible. I really hope all that money he collected was from front-dated checks!
The good news is that his treasurer is a local Democratic has-been with about as much pull with voters as Norma Chavez .... which is to say - zero. I'm assuming that Hector H. Lopez's crack campaign team consisting of Norma Chavez, Dr. Don Juan and Reyes' over-paid niece suggested he wheel out Robles as some kind of marker of legitimacy for his campaign. What none of them realize is that she was a part of the team that saw Congressman Reyes lose a campaign he should have won by at least 25 points. They literally hired the worst coach in the league to join the worst offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator and quarterback in the league. This should be great.
Some of you are miffed that the El Paso Times reporter claims that Hector H. Lopez is a radio show host on KHRO 1150 when it's clear he hasn't held that position in years. Is it bad reporting? Or is it a signal that this guy hasn't had a real job... ever? He claims to be some kind of Chief Vice President of Executive Operations and President of the Chairman of the Board of Directors of some nonexistent Hispanic club - which we all know is bullshit. I have to assume the reporter had nothing else to report other than he was once a radio show host for a brief time. I feel sorry for her because she had nothing to go on because the guy is a loser without a real job and had to figure what to write other than "he's a loser without a real job."
What the El Paso Times did miss is that he apparently listed a UPS store as his address. It's legal, however, it's weird. Unless, he has some kind of "delivery" theme for his campaign. Then it would be cool.
I have a serious problem with this headline. It's clear Lopez will lose by at least 4,000 points. Accuracy first.

Jay,
I'm assuming Alex Lozano is going to make a very strong showing as a write-in candidate.

David said, "Some of you are miffed that the El Paso Times reporter claims that Hector H. Lopez is a radio show host on KHRO 1150 when it's clear he hasn't held that position in years. Is it bad reporting?"
Yes, but its also clear that the EPTimes prints press releases as "news".

It is clear that Chris Dorhn is part of the crazies group.

Many people are incredulous when I tell them that David often spread insults, gossip, and stories that are mostly false. "How could David be so incompetent?", they ask me. "It doesn't seem possible." Well, it is definitely possible.
Given the damnable political rhetoric of our times, if his imprecations were intended as a joke, he forgot to include the punchline. So long as the devastating inequities that characterize our society persist, his janissaries will be unable to deny that David truly believes that Hector's ideas of "freedom" and "incendiarism" are Siamese twins. It is just such morally repugnant megalomania, illiberal egoism, and intellectual aberrancy that stirs David to post such drivel week after week.

And yet, you continue to lap up that drivel week after week, Alonzo! I can see you eagerly loging on, going to your 'favorites', and waiting with bated breath to find out what David K has to say as his blog loads. Your mock indignation is hilarious!
Look up 'estupid' in your Xicano dictionary, and you'll find your picture!

Alonzo needs to step-away from the thesaurus and take DK out of his favorite's. ;)
The word to describe Hector H. Lopez is "Prig."
prig
NOUN:
A person who demonstrates an exaggerated conformity or propriety, especially in an irritatingly arrogant or smug manner.

Alonzo with a Z ....quick question.....when is the next peyote party? Arent you a "shaman" in your real life?
Posted by: Damnit Norma! | January 24, 2013 at 05:41 PM
A quick look at the National Hispanic Institute's Board of Directors and staff show no Hector Lopez, nor do any independent sources cite him as such... all the references to being involved with that org come from Hector Lopez himself!

Michael, please get it straight - it is Hector H. Lopez, if you please!
Alonzo, get a job, get a life, and stop kissing HHL's ass. He is not going to help you because he can't even help himself. He is a racist and any form of racism is wrong.
Posted by: Josie | January 25, 2013 at 11:28 PM
Josie, you're wrong about any form of racism being wrong.
Racism against "rich, white people" who are trying to wipe out all instances of "Xicano's", or "lagartistas" with their ballparks and quality of life bonds, is perfectly acceptable.
Just ask Norma Chavez, Four Names Allala, Sal Gomez, Orthon Medina, Eddie Holguin, and Emma Acosta!
