Lots of "old guard" democrats there, which is weird. Usually city council contests stay way away from the parties. They are not partisan and "the machine" is not used to push one candidate or another. It's interesting here to see that Apodaca, should he win, would be the first candidate owned by a faction of the local democrat party. He would not be listening to his constituents, but the party heavyweights instead.
Take a look at the pictures and decide for yourself if you like the crowd he's running with.
I might add that it wasn't much of a "crowd" - not a good sign. I guess Apodaca's use of unsolicited lists for volunteers isn't paying off.
