Please go read the piece that is likely to get Martin Paredes sued (I removed the link, why feed the troll? He's in enough trouble as it is, more traffic is just going to make it worse for him and I kind of feel sorry for him).
He gets about every fact wrong a person could possibly get wrong about the family business. He admits that he's working with Emma Acosta to slander my family because I provided emails from my ORR request for you to read. And he gets on some bizarre rant about me patronizing him... which is completely untrue.
Where do we start?
First of all - he doesn't know how to look up an assumed name and doesn't understand the difference between engineering and construction contracts. He gets the name of the company my father bought into in 1991 wrong and fails report on the millions of dollars of city work the company did at that time through today. He says that my parent's company only did $10 of work for the city in 2008 and no work from 2001-2007, which is a complete lie. We actually did much more city work before 2008 than we do now. That was back when CSA was only an engineering company. That means we were subject to the "qualification based selection" process that is very subjective. Later, my parents opened a construction company and had to bid city work like everyone else. You can't get special favors when it's a "lowest responsive bid" situation. It doesn't matter who you support politically. On top of it - he missed a $1.4 million construction project my parents successfully bid in 2013... what a moron. He can't even get the facts right when it helps make his conspiracy theory a little more believable (it is a conspiracy theory - we are not even in the top five companies in city construction or engineering projects).
What Martin fails to untangle here is that since 2006 our engineering firm has not been chosen to perform design work on more than 100 projects we submitted qualifications on. We are like 1 for 250 in the past 10 years. We were not even given an "on call" design contract for the bond issue projects recently when nearly every other firm in town was given one.
When we did have an "on call" contract with the city a few years back, we were purposely never given a project and got a big fat zero in revenue from it. I can tell you that the city's engineering department dislikes my parent's firm with a vengeance. And if Martin knew how to do a proper open records request, he'd see where we were recently short listed for a design project, invited to give an oral presentation and then told we didn't do a good enough presentation to the get the job. Oh, when it was over - the city demanded we give our presentation materials to the firm that did win because they like them the best. Talk about "my influence" over at City Hall. That's laughable.
My mom is on the Civil Service Commission - pretty much every employee hates her and we are purposely denied work because of it. Martin forgets that little part right there.
And if my support for the ballpark - which I do not support, I just defend the fact that nothing illegal has happened - was important to Hunt/Foster, why didn't my parents firm get a design or construction contract? We've built and designed baseball fields before. My dad did the Tejanos' field and we recently build the El Paso High baseball and softball fields - why weren't we even considered?
Maybe Martin should go get his facts straight before even trying to tie me to some conspiracy to defraud El Paso taxpayers.
I will spend time later to go through all of this BS and educate you on how a guy who moved to Florida when all of his friends were being indicted for public corruption has defamed my parent's good name for Emma Acosta and Four Names Allala.
Again - what an idiot he didn't even think to see if we did business under a different name before 2008... seriously - how stupid can one guy be? And he doesn't understand how a low bid contract works... and he points out where Niland votes against my parents low bid contract as proof I'm altering the bidding process through my non-support of the ballpark. Seriously - what an idiot.
Raise your hand if you ever saw me working on a city project before 2008.
