The El Paso Times covered the approval of the pools from the quality of life bond issue. The biggest news is that the original budget estimates were wrong - wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.
That means everything El Paso will build from that bond issue will be more than you have to pay for it. People at city hall are going to have to get really creative or really serious about what they "need" and what they "want."
To top that off, there's a move on council to make the minimum wage on city projects $10 an hour. That will further put the estimates behind reality and cause more funding problems.
What am I saying here? Pay attention. You will be paying higher taxes, but you might want to ask your representatives to support only the projects you think you "need."
I'll be back next week. Taking a short break.
