That letter has to be the dumbest thing I've ever seen in a campaign. Someone should have a long talk with the ones responsible and remind them that threating a news outlet is a really bad idea under any circumstance but to do it during a campaign and in a way that a particular candidate looks like the one complaining. It's just plain stupid.

Your background article was particularly informative. The lawyer never said that the person approving placement of names on a ballot couldn't reject someone who wasn't qualified, by residency or any other legal reason.

Failure to provide any proof of residency when legitimate residency issues have been raised, adds to the perception that the name was placed on the ballot illegally.
